You can add your GoZen Host email account to Outlook (desktop app or Outlook.com) using IMAP and SMTP. Outlook syncs your inbox, sent items, and folders.

Prerequisites

  • A GoZen Host email account already created (see Setting Up Email Accounts)
  • Your email credentials (email address and password)

Outlook Desktop (Windows)

New Outlook (Microsoft 365)

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to File > Add Account
  3. Enter your email address > Connect
  4. Outlook may try to auto-configure. If it fails, click Advanced options > check Let me set up my account manually
  5. Select IMAP
  6. Enter the server settings from the table above
  7. Enter your password > Connect
  8. Click Done

Classic Outlook

  1. Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings
  2. Click New on the Email tab
  3. Select Manual setup or additional server types > Next
  4. Select IMAP > Next
  5. Fill in:
    • Your name and email address
    • Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Username: you@yourdomain.com
    • Password: your password
  6. Click More Settings > Advanced tab:
    • Incoming server port: 993, encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing server port: 465, encryption: SSL/TLS
  7. Click Outgoing Server tab:
    • Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  8. Click OK > Next > Finish

Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com)

  1. Go to outlook.com and sign in
  2. Click the gear icon > View all Outlook settings
  3. Go to Mail > Sync email
  4. Under Connected accounts, click Other email accounts
  5. Enter your display name, email address, and password
  6. Outlook.com will try to auto-configure. If manual setup is needed, enter the IMAP/SMTP settings from the table above
  7. Click OK

Outlook for Mac

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts
  3. Click the + button > New Account
  4. Enter your email address > Continue
  5. If auto-configuration fails, select IMAP and enter the server settings manually
  6. Click Add Account

Outlook Mobile (iOS / Android)

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. Tap Add Account
  3. Enter your email address
  4. If auto-detect fails, tap Setup account manually
  5. Select IMAP
  6. Enter the IMAP and SMTP settings from the table above
  7. Tap Sign In

Troubleshooting

Duplicate emailsIf using both POP3 and IMAP, pick one. IMAP syncs, POP3 downloads. Using both creates duplicates
“Certificate error”Use mail.yourdomain.com as the server hostname, not the server’s machine hostname
Emails arriving lateIMAP syncs periodically. Outlook desktop can be configured to sync more frequently in Send/Receive Groups
