Set up GOZEN HOST Email in Gmail (IMAP/SMTP)¶

You can use GOZEN HOST email with Gmail in two ways:
- Gmail web (Send mail as): You keep reading mail in GOZEN HOST webmail or another client, and use Gmail mostly to send.
- Gmail mobile app: You add the mailbox directly to the Gmail app using IMAP.
Before you start
Have your mailbox details ready from the Welcome Email for your Email Hosting service.
If your domain is registered elsewhere, that’s fine. You only need correct DNS. See: Point your domain to GOZEN HOST.
Mail server settings (IMAP/SMTP)¶
Use these values unless your Welcome Email specifies different server names.
- Email address: you@yourdomain.com
- Username: full email address (usually)
- Password: your mailbox password
Incoming mail (IMAP)¶
- IMAP server: mail.yourdomain.com (or the server name from your Welcome Email)
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail (SMTP)¶
- SMTP server: mail.yourdomain.com (or the server name from your Welcome Email)
- Port: 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS)
- Authentication: ON (required)
- Username/Password: same as mailbox
Which SMTP port should I use?
Use 465 with SSL/TLS if available. Use 587 with STARTTLS if 465 is blocked by a network policy.
Option A: Add GOZEN HOST email to the Gmail mobile app (recommended)¶
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap your profile icon → Add another account.
- Choose Other.
- Enter your full email address (example:
support@yourdomain.com). - Select Personal (IMAP).
- Enter your mailbox password.
- If Gmail asks for server settings, enter the IMAP and SMTP values from the section above.
- Enable: - Require sign-in (SMTP auth) - SSL/TLS for IMAP and SMTP
- Save.
Folder sync
If you use multiple folders (e.g. Sales, Support), ensure “All Mail” or your required folders are enabled for IMAP on the server side.
Option B: Use Gmail web to send mail from your GOZEN HOST address¶
This is ideal if you want to send as you@yourdomain.com from Gmail, while keeping the mailbox hosted at GOZEN HOST.
- Open Gmail in a browser.
- Go to Settings → See all settings.
- Open Accounts and Import.
- In Send mail as, click Add another email address.
- Enter: - Name - Email address (your GOZEN HOST email)
- Choose Treat as an alias (recommended for most users).
- Click Next Step.
- Enter SMTP details:
- SMTP server:
mail.yourdomain.com(or your Welcome Email server) - Port:465(SSL) or587(STARTTLS) - Username: full email address - Password: mailbox password - Security: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS - Gmail will send a verification email. Open it and confirm.
Deliverability note
For best inbox placement, your domain should have correct SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
If you’re not sure, follow: Point your domain to GOZEN HOST and then review your DNS records.
Troubleshooting¶
Gmail says “Username and password not accepted”¶
- Confirm the mailbox password in GOZEN HOST webmail.
- Ensure the username is the full email address.
- Double-check IMAP port 993 with SSL/TLS.
Sending fails but receiving works¶
- Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled.
- Try port 465 SSL/TLS first, then 587 STARTTLS.
- Some networks block outbound SMTP. Test from another network or mobile data.
Messages go to spam¶
- Make sure SPF/DKIM/DMARC are set correctly in DNS.
- Avoid “From” mismatches (sending as one domain through another).
